If you didn’t travel to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yet then you should plan to do it very soon. This is a destination that any traveler should not miss, a “must see” place it’s how i like to call it. Dubai is know for it’s fantastic architecture , with many spectacular building being built every year but also known for the vibrant nightlife and luxury shopping. What can you see in Dubai ? Dubai’s excellent museum is housed in the Al-Fahidi Fort, built in 1787 to defend Dubai Creek. The fort’s walls are built out of traditional coral-blocks and held together with lime. The upper floor is supported by wooden poles, and the ceiling is constructed from palm fronds, mud, and plaster. In its history, the fort has served as a residence for the ruling family, a seat of government, garrison, and prison. Restored in 1971 (and again extensively in 1995), it is now the city’s premier museum. The entrance has a fascinating exhibition of old maps of the Emirates and Dubai, showing the mammoth expansion that hit the region after the oil boom. The courtyard is home to several traditional boats and a palm-leaf house with an Emirati wind-tower. The right-hand hall features weaponry, and the left-hand hall showcases Emirati musical instruments. Below the ground floor are display halls with exhibits and dioramas covering various aspects of traditional Emirati life (including pearl fishing and Bedouin desert life), as well as artifacts from the 3,000- to 4,000-year-old graves at Al Qusais archaeological site.

While the grown-ups will appreciate the history of this modest-sized mound in the heart of the business district, the kids… well, they don’t need any excuse to tumble around in a park as verdant as this, do they? As they explore the many nooks and crannies of Fort Canning Park and its many colonial-era relics, history buffs can learn more about the vital roles it played in Singapore’s story over the centuries.

Mercado Municipal: A visit to Mercado Municipal in Centro is a must on your list of things to do in Isla Mujeres. Not only can you soak up the local atmosphere, but the authentic food is cheap and very delicious. For as little as a few dollars, you can enjoy the best fish tacos and empanadas on the island. It does close early afternoon so time your visit for lunchtime. Go On a Shopping Spree: Shopping for authentic souvenirs and clothing is one of the top things to do in Mexico as a whole. There are the usual Mexican souvenir shops in Isla Mujeres but if you’re after Tequila or Mezcal, folk art, silver jewellery, hammocks and Mexican ceramics there are certain shops that you should check out. Some of the best shopping can be found along Avenida Rueda Medina, but don’t miss: There are works of art, jewellery, clothing and book stalls with a selection of local food vendors offering Mexican cuisine.
