Dubai is know for it’s fantastic architecture , with many spectacular building being built every year but also known for the vibrant nightlife and luxury shopping. What can you see in Dubai ?
Located 130km south-east of Downtown Dubai, Hatta is a not-to-be-missed scenic getaway. Here you can try your hand at kayaking along the serene Hatta Lake or traversing the rocky mountains on foot with specially-crafted hiking experiences. Recent additions to the area include a chic lodge-style hotel, trailer parks for glamping enthusiasts, and a host of adventure activities such as zorbing, free-falls, mountain biking and more, available via Hatta Wadi Hub. The newest addition to the city highlights is fast becoming the most loved destination of tourists and travelers alike. This frame serves the exact job of other sky-high buildings in Dubai, such as Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, that is providing a panoramic view of the city. But, Dubai Frame has a unique concept- the north side of the frame shows the historical side of Dubai, whereas the southern part provides breathtaking views of the city’s modern skyline. The frame vertical glass bridge connects the two parallel towers 1(50m tall and 93m wide), which make the shape of a frame. You will get an eagle-eye view of the city from the 150m high frame while you endure the past, present, and future from the ground to the sky. If you are brave enough, you can walk in the 50m long opaque glass bridge at the Sky-deck that becomes clear only when a visitor walks over it. This gives a feeling that you are walking in the air. Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum was the Ruler of Dubai from 1921 to 1958 and grandfather to the current ruler. His former residence has been rebuilt and restored as a museum that is a fine example of Arabian architecture. The original house was built in 1896 by Sheikh Saeed’s father, so he could observe shipping activity from the balconies. It was demolished, but the current house was rebuilt next to the original site, staying true to the original model by incorporating carved teak doors, wooden lattice screens across the windows, and gypsum ventilation screens with floral and geometric designs. Thirty rooms are built around a central courtyard with wind-tower details on top. Inside are the exhibits of the Dubai Museum of Historical Photographs and Documents, with many wonderful old photographs of Dubai from the period between 1948 and 1953. The marine wing of the museum has photos of fishing, pearling, and boat building. Throughout the building there are many letters, maps, coins, and stamps on display showing the development of the Emirate.
Another big reason to visit Dubai is the World EXPO 2020. That will be a sight to behold! Expo 2020 will (of course) be in 2020 – although it doesn’t officially start until later in the year. It will run for six months from October 20 to April 10, with pavillions open and entertainment scheduled between 10am and 1am on weekdays, and 10am to 2am on weekends.
